On October 2009, the Ontario Government introduced its Green Energy Act, replacing its former plans to build new nuclear reactors.

As part of the Green Energy Act, the Ontario government's FIT program supports the development of renewable power rooftops and ground-mounted projects.

It's a powerful program, designed to fit your property:

» You're paid for the power your project produces with prices up to 80.2 cents/kilowatt, which is the highest feed-in-tariff in the world.

» You continue to buy electricity from your local supplier the way you do now with prices 6 - 8 cents/kilowatt.

» Your solar project is connected directly to the grid and the energy you produce will be separately metered and paid to you.

» Ontario government guarantees that you will be paid with prices up to 80.2 cents/kilowatt for a term of 20 years through their 'power purchase contract'.

» Your Return on Investment is 12-15% annually, sun dependent.

» Your solar array helps to reduce pollution and makes Ontario a cleaner and greener place to live for our future generations.

» You improve your property values by having an income producing asset.

residential projects

If you decide to generate clean renewable solar energy, the Ontario Power Authority will pay you $0.80 per kWh!

commercial projects

Commercial property owners may choose to lease their rooftops on a per square foot basis, to earn an attractive fee from system owners or purchasing your solar project from and receive generation payments from Ontario Power Authority.
